Welcome

International DAAD-Alumni Summer School “Agricultural Technology and Engineering in Developing Countries
from November, 3rd 2013 (arrival date)
to November 11th 2013 (departure date to Göttingen)
followed by a visit to the world's leading trade fair for agricultural machinery
Agritechnica 2013, November 12th - 14th 2013 in Hanover, Germany
(departure date from Germany is November 15th)
The program is organized and hosted by the Department of Agricultural Engineering in the Tropics and Subtropics of the Faculty of Organic Agricultural Sciences of the University of Kassel (Prof. Dr. Oliver Hensel, www.uni-kassel.de/fb11agrar/en/sections/agrartechnik/home.html) and DITSL Witzenhausen (www.ditsl.org)
in close cooperation with the
Department of Crop Sciences of the University of Göttingen - Section of Agricultural Engineering ( Dr. Jens Wegener, www.uni-goettingen.de/en/84968.html) and the
Section of Quality of Plant Products (Prof. Dr. Elke Pawelzik, http://wwwuser.gwdg.de/~uaac/qualitet.htm)
with financial support from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The Summer school targets German university alumni from developing countries (DAC country nationals) who are professionally involved in the agricultural sector and/or with agricultural technology in the framework of rural or urban, public or private sector development, and/or who are working for academic, educational or development organizations. Participants should be multipliers in a position to spread the acquired knowledge and experience and/or take decisions on implementation.

The Summer school will promote exchange between the participants in the field of agricultural engineering, facilitate international scientific cooperation and qualify the participants in the field of agricultural technology development and equipment. The Summer school will foster exchange of experiences, establishment of international networks between the participants, scientific discourse on technology development and design of equipment, and international academic cooperation in this field. It will stimulate and promote ideas for joint research, technology development and knowledge transfer.
