Training Markus Frank studied organic agricultural science at the University of Kassel and finished his B.Sc. degree in February 2012.
Career Before starting his studies at Kassel University he gathered working experiences in practical agriculture and extension in Germany and abroad. In 2004 he did an internship in a project for rural development in India and from 2005 - 2006 he worked on an organic farm in Argentina. During his studies he did an internship in the foundation AGRECOL-Andes in Boliva. Since 2009 he is involved in several project activities and conference organization at DITSL.
Research His main research interest is on agricultural innovation systems, especially on local farmer driven innovation and local knowledge. He did his B.Sc. thesis on local innovation in the development in smallholder agriculture. » Thesis Link
